LOCKDOWN RAMADAN

The Islamic feast of Ramadan combined with the social distancing restrictions of the global lockdown highlighted a phenomenon that is rapidly emerging. Micro and macro religious communities have found a comfortable place online, mostly thanks to the live features of social media such as Facebook and Youtube. Worldwide Quran lecturers and Imams get increasingly creative and organized to stream online their prayers and recitations. We followed many different live streaming sessions to documented this web revolution concerning Islam in all its ethnicity and cultural differences, while involving 1.5 billions Muslims globally.
